All business, BABY!

I haven’t updated or uploaded for A LONG TIME so I thought I should make an attempt to start updating cakes weekly.

I have been doing cakes more FULL TIME and I LOVE IT! I bake and decorate under the Cottage Food Law of Wisconsin. Everything that leaves my kitchen is non hazardous. This means my cakes and cupcakes do not require refrigeration to be safe for consuming.

I have recently purchased a software called CAKEBOSS Cloud and I find this VERY helpful. I can track expenses, cost out recipes and time. I print and send invoices and track payments like a REAL business.

After updating all of my cake pictures I have come to realize how much my cakes have evolved with trends and my skill level. I continue to educate myself through tutorials, videos and a cake group for questions and advice. I am beyond grateful for all of these resources.

After seeing all of my past cake pictures it brings back so many memories and feelings of preparing and baking these goodies. I can remember ALL OF THEM!

All I have left to say is Thank you!

Making a comeback…

I am back at it again! Feels so good to get my hands on some fondant and test out my new tools I’ve bought. I recently purchased a printer for edible images and a cool air pen for piping consistent lines.

I was planning on having my “comeback” cake be my daughter’s  birthday cake but I was approached by a friend to make a couple police appreciation cakes. I was excited to finally show my support to our local departments. I knew the week would be very busy making the police cakes and my daughter’s cake for her birthday. I organized my time well and finished them all! It’s a thrilling feeling.

My friend and her husband, whom is a police officer, met my family at the local departments to deliver the police cakes. The officers were happy with the cakes and grateful. My son finally got a chance to meet a couple police officers, sit in their vehicles, run the sirens and lights and handle some real handcuffs. He was elated. He still wants to visit the station every time we pass. A huge thank you to my friend Brittany and her husband for asking me to make these cakes. I truly appreciate the support.

After the reveal of the police cakes, I was inspired to make some business cards and take this venture to the next step. I have gotten many responses and orders for future cakes. Thank you all for your kind words and taking a chance on my dream.


A look forward…

I have been so busy with cake orders that I am humbled with the love and support I have received for following my dream. I am also happy to announce that I am completely booked up through the end of 2015. I even have some orders for 2016 in the books.

I am excited for the upcoming orders of anniversary cakes, baby shower cakes, birthday cakes and I have a WEDDING cake order in December. So excited!

To my family and friends

Thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your special events. It’s been great testing flavors, recipes and new creations with you. I appreciate all the feedback and advice. My calendar has been filling up with cake requests for the new year. I’m working on new recipes ideas everyday and I can’t wait to share them with you! Thank you for all your support!
